MARIO & KIM MASTERCLASS
I will start this text with a compliment to Kim Kardashian West (pregnant with her second child), which most of us expected only a brief appearance in the Master Class and she surprised everyone with her friendliness and attentiveness to answer the numerous questions the audience did to her, while she seated as Mario Dedivanovic makeup model for 5 hours. From her shampoo brand, stretch marks cream and a dark circles solution, she answered it all!
The two have a wonderful chemistry, they were stinging each other with jokes all the time, that reveal a great complicity and affection between them.
The event took place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, a stunning Italian Renaissance-style building designed in the 1930s. I posted the street style of the attendees in my facebook, as they were arriving in Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, in Louboutins, fresh from the hairdresser and flawless makeup, so I got out of the subway took a look at my shirt and jeans style and realized I had misunderstood the dress code!
Kim was bare faced when she emerged on stage and Mario asked us if we wanted a natural look, the croud shouted "NO", we wanted to see all the tricks and contouring in particular which is Dedivanovic’s trademark. It’s a technique that helps define facial structure. Mario revealed to be a Kevyn Aucoin disciple, as I, since my dear makeup artist and best friend Patrick Van den Berg lent a Kevin's book called "Making Faces".
The stars were on stage, but the audience was packed with celebrities like Ashley Tisdale, Theresa Caputo and her daughter and eyebrow queen Anastasia of Beverly Hills with her daughter.
Make-up artists from around the world, were taking notes, from Ecuador, Sweden, Abu Dhabi, and a Portuguese of course, me.

At the end, it was the time to take pictures, because the phones and cameras were forbidden during the process.
Together with the certificate, we received a bag with Mario's favorite products, which I loved! <3
It was a unique and enriching experience for me as a professional makeup artist, since Mario revealed a lot of his make-up techniques and skills and listed all his material, from brushes and other tools to moisturizer and fake lashes. It was great! Thank you Mario+Kim
